Rant 5: TV Shows

Television is really one of those things that I used to really be into but I've kind of fallen out of that these past years.  Even though this, I still have a couple of favorite shows, both of them that have been unfortunately been canceled, I will get into the summaries of them in a little.  Now on to the actual rant about cancellation of television shows.  As I mentioned above, my two favorite shows have been canceled and it is really unfortunate for that.  The shows are My Name is Earl, canceled after fourth season in 2009, and Raising Hope, again canceled after fourth season in April of this year.  My Name is Earl is about a former thief named Earl Hickey who, after getting hit by a car after wining the lottery ,even though it was a complete fluke this happened, "discovers" karma while laying in the hospital bed.  He then decides to make up for all the wrong deeds he has done in the past, which was in the six to seven hundreds by the end of the series.  I don't really see why this was canceled, even though there have been rumors about a movie that shows him finishing his list( everything he had done wrong) and what happens after he has it finished.  Raising Hope is about a twenty-ish year old guy named Jimmy Chance.  What happens is he has a one night stand with a serial killer named Lucy and then she has a child before being executed.  Jimmy takes her in, as she is his kid anyway, and changes her name to Hope.  Like My Name is Earl, I don't know why this was canceled but I like both of the shows.

Rant 4: Anime

Ah anime. The Japanese's way of showing how messed up in the head they can be, I'm not dissing them its just some anime is just weird but entertaining.  Some of my favorite anime would have to be SAO (Sword Art Online), Soul Eater, and Bleach.  Now into the actual rant about some odd things I've noticed in some anime that I have seen.  Alright, starting with Soul Eater, there is a few things that are just odd.  One of my favorite characters, a "meister", as they are called in the anime, named Crona, gender is never actually revealed.  His/her weapon, a demon-like entity called Ragnarok, has tried to reveal if Crona is a male or a female but has always failed.  Another thing that I kind of find weird, even though it is possible to be like this, is the fact that one of the main characters is extremely obsessed with symmetry, to the point that everything around him has to be perfectly symmetrical.  While yes, it is a little odd, it does provide some comedic moments, like at one point in the second season, he literally jumps into the sun just because the sky was perfectly symmetrical.  Sword Art Online, to me, seems like the most realistic of the three.  I mean its an anime that takes place in an MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game) but really the only thing that is odd about the whole story line is in the first series.  In the first series, the characters are trapped in a game( appropriately named Sword Art Online) but if you died in the game, you died in real life. I mean, who would but a game like that?  I wouldn't, unless the whole die in game, die in real life thing going on.   Bleach is just odd.  The main character, a guy named Ichigo, is forced into becoming, what I think are called, reapers(if I'm wrong I'm sorry its been a while since I've seen), and is forced to fight monsters called "hallows", which have something to do with a dead persons soul or something like that.  It is really odd but I enjoy it.

Rant 3: Video Games

Alright well this topic is really near to me this rant is about video games. Now a little bit of background information about me and this topic.  Honestly, I love all genres of video games even though I have my favorites, some JRPG's and some FPS, its just that some things that happen in them are rage inducing to me.  Now to start the rant about the thing that make me rage in video games. As I mentions above, I'm addicted to video games and love pretty much every genre of them its just some things that happen in them that make me become angry and rage.  One thing that does this is when I not given any time to react to enemies that are one the scene.  An example of this is in a game I am trying to beat right now, Deadpool.  Theres one part in the game where you are in a sewer like area then a larger enemy, with a health bar above his head, and then from the ceiling, another comes crashing down giving anyone playing no time to react and defeat the first one.  Another thing that makes me angry in video games is boss that are either to hard to beat or require the player to loss, one game that that falls into the first category is actually one of my favorite games of all time, The World Ends with You.  The first part of this takes place during the second third of the game where you are forced to fight my favorite character in the game.  The second next time some thing like this happens in the same game is the final boss, yes I understand final bosses are supposed to be difficult to beat but why make them that difficult but then again because I can't beat them means I suck at the game.  Well, that all I have to say.

Rant 2: Music

Today's rant will be about music.  I love music and some of my favorite genres of music are any type of rock, specifically rock-rap and classic rock, and some rap.  Now into the actual rant about music and how I feel about some artists and what they do. Honestly, I respect most artists and their music, with a few exceptions.  The main exception to the artists is rappers.  I mean who are the first rappers who come most people head. I bet its not Eminem, Fort Minor, or even Tech N9ne.  I bet its scum such as Wiz Kalifa, and Lil Wayne who only have "songs" about drugs, how much money they make, or how many women they've slept with.  While yes, Eminem and Tech can be seen as "scum" because they both have at least one song about drugs but honestly those two have better songs than the real scum I mentioned earlier.  Finally, in conclusion, when it comes I DON'T CARE ABOUT SOME OF THE THINGS THEIR SONGS ARE ABOUT.  Well, thats how I feel about that. 

Rant 1: Movies

Today's rant is about movies, before I get into the actual rant I'll give a little bit of information about my interests on the subject.  Some of my favorite movies are comedies but more specifically any movie with Adam Sandler in it or produced by his company, Happy Madison productions, even though they are usually seen as "bad" by critics.  Now into the actual rant about movies and how critics make some movies seen worse than they actually are. Alright, as I mentioned above, some of my favorite movies have something to do with Adam Sandler or Happy Madison productions, movies such as Grown-Ups, Happy Gilmore, and Billy Madison, and while, yes some of this are viewed with mixed reception, the same cannot be said about some movies his cohorts in acting are in.  Some of these actors include David Spade(Grown-Ups, The Benchwarmers), and Rob Schineder. What I don't really get is why critics have to give these movies such bad reps, I mean I know I'm not the only person who liked both of Grown-ups movies and The Benchwarmers but why critics.  Some reviews, such as the Rotten Tomatoes one for The Benchwarmers shows (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/benchwarmers/), are completely just why must you give such a good movie an eleven percent yes I how there were some mistakes in it but it was still a good movie. I'm sorry if this first rant wasn't all that good but the next will be better and if you have a differing opinions, please let me know in the comments.

Introduction

My name is Jerry Goosman. My lab is Computer Service Technician and Networking and my home school is Oak Hills.   Some of my interests include playing video games, listening to music, hanging out with my friends and family, going for walks, and all sorts of mythological and spiritual objects and stories.  Some thing that really grinds my gears is when people who are driving at night are paying more attention to their phones, talking, texting, etc., or other things around them that is NOT the road.
